domesticity I

that moment untold
and brief and bright

when

with the faintest rustle of a sheet
in the silence of our night,
his legs unfold
and his feet

slowly

stealthily

purposefully

softly glide towards mine –
that moment, then, so sweet
when our toes
in a gesture of love’s warmth
and permanence, calmly finally meet
and serenely entwine.
